Well March is here and I really can't wait for April... or May for that matter... I am SO ready for spring and summer. This winter has really kicked my ass. Bring on the warmth!
For the month of March I will be working from home on a contract I got with another company. The work is interesting enough, but I just realized yesterday that I set a deadline for myself (and my employer) for Friday. Uh, yeah. Lots to do! BUT, once I get through this boatload, the remainder should be far more doable. Let's hope.
SO the pregnancy is going well. I guess I haven't shared much about it. Well here it goes.
I'm due July 17th. I'm hoping to push the date off a tiny bit so I end up with a Leo. My leo husband is pretty alright, and apparently Leos and Sagittarius' get a long well... Yes, I'm basing a lot on a date.
The end of Nov into early December was pretty rough. Dead tired, FREEZING cold and nausea. But, I count my lucky stars that that was the worst of it. I did have a little morning puke last week, but I then went on my way to work. Little bouts of nausea here and there, but totally manageable.
I've received a few bits of unsolicited advice
- Avoiding alcohol isn't necessary. I drank all through my pregnancy and my kid is fine.
- Eat lots of dairy fat (SIGN ME UP!)
- Well, I guess you're going to need to focus on losing weight once you've had the baby, then... (that treat, from my dad).
So let me give you a little context behind my dad's comment. First off, my dad would NEVER say anything rude or anything to hurt me... it's all just a little misunderstanding. You see, I've gained 13 lbs. Considering I'm halfway through my pregnancy, that's about right. I told my dad how much I have gained and he thought that was a HUGE amount ("Your mother never gained that!" - well, yes... actually she gained 30 lbs...). And he knows that I was actively trying to lose weight prior to getting pregnant (I was down to 165!!!), so put the two together and you have unsolicited advice. I immediately told him as much.
Anyhow...
So Thom and I are looking to take a trip towards the end of the month. It's a pre-baby trip, and our only intent for the trip is to lay on the beach and read. Usually we take in a few tours, explore the surrounding area, etc, but this time, not so much. So we haven't booked anything yet, and we're planning to take advantage of last minute deals. Let's hope we're not burned!
So another little fun tidbit of info is that my good friend L is also expecting - two weeks before me! It has been nice to go through the different phases with her. Very reassuring.
For instance, last week I was a complete basket case. And of course, over little things, e.g., the plumber we hired to hook up our washing machine charged too much, someone doored our car, etc, etc. Enough little things that I melted down. I look forward to being done with this excessive emotional business. I'm emotional enough as it is!
Also, right off the bat (and until only recently), I was extremely indifferent about being pregnant. I felt extremely guilty about it. L felt the same. Most of you folks know my concern about being a parent and how I'll treat the little one, and this all leads into it. But what comforts me is knowing that Thom is the most supportive person I know. He is my strength and he will help me through anything.
Anyhow, my self-imposed lunch break is over. Have yourselves a lovely day.

Hello. Congratulations on your pregnancy! Funny you should mention Leos and Sagitarians... I've a friend like a sister to me who's Sagitarian, and her significant other is a Leo. Their baby? He's a Cancerian like me. It's a good grouping for family, complementary for each others' strengths and weaknesses.
Anyway, wanted to stop by and thank you for your lovely comment over at my place. Not sure how you found me, but I'm glad.
wow, i didn't realize you were that far along already. how exciting! i'm glad to hear you're doing good. :) xoxo
Eclectic: Interesting thoughts! Now go check your email, cuz I'm not THAT new...
Kim: Yeah, far enough along! But the funny thing is I just feel like I'm getting bigger, but not because of pregnancy. It's hard to explain. BUT, according to the midwife I'm progressing fine!
